The Portland Timbers would start a reserve roster on Tuesday in an Open Cup match against San Jose at JELD-WEN Field, with the match stuck between important league matches with Real Salt Lake and Philadelphia. And though the reserves did well in their chance to shine, missed scoring chances would come back to haunt them as the Timbers would give up a goal in the last minute of overtime and fall 1-0 to the Quakes.
