Timbers get a valuable point on the road, 1-1 final in San Jose

The Portland Timbers earned a valuable point on the road, with a 1-1 draw to the San Jose Earthquakes.  A first half goal by Kenny Cooper in the first half off a Jorge Perlaza cross gave the Timbers the 1-0 lead at the break, but former USL Timber Alan Gordon scored late and the Timbers could once again not hold onto a late lead, but earned an important point in the 1-1 draw, and keep the Earthquakes behind them in the Western Conference standings.
