The Portland Timbers announced today that University of Akron head coach Caleb Porter will become the head coach for the 2013 Timbers season, officially taking over the reigns in December after having been the head coach at Akron for seven years.
Porter has a record 106-17-14 at Akron, including coaching current Timber Darlington Nagbe, and was also the coach of the U-23 National team.
The Timbers will officially introduce Porter as the coach at a press conference in December.
