The Portland Timbers opened their 2013 season on Sunday afternoon against the New York Red Bulls, and were quickly down 3-1 after some sloppy play by Caleb Porter’s revamped 2013 lineup.
But the Timbers would rally for the draw after dominating play for much of the rest of the match, with Darlington Nagbe pulling the Timbers to within a goal om the 56th minute, then Jose Valencia’s low shot in the 83rd minute rebounded in off New York defender Jámison Olave to secure a 3-3 draw.
