The Portland Thorns got their first win over the Kansas City Current since 2023 with a 2-0 shutout.

The Thorns earned a penalty chance when Sophie Wilson (making her first start since 2024) drew a foul in the box in the 51st minute.  Olivia Moultrie would step up to the spot to take the chance and put the chance into the bottom left corner to put the Thorns up 1-0.

The Thorns would get another goal in the 63rd minute after defender Jayden Perry sent a long chipped pass into the run of forward Reilyn Turner, who rose up and  beat the keeper and a defender in the air with her back towards the goal and headed the ball into the net.

Mackenzie Arnold earned the clean sheet in goal.
