The Portland Timbers just missed out on a playoff spot in their first season in Major League Soccer, having been eliminated when the New York Red Bulls won on Thursday.\u00a0 But the Timbers did go out on a positive not as Mamadou “Futty” Danso equalized in second half stoppage time in 1-1 draw at Real Salt Lake.<\/p>\n

The Timbers end the season on a three game unbeaten road streak, their longest of the season, and finish with 11 wins, 14 losses, 9 draws, and 42 points, good for sixth place out of nine teams in the Western Conference.<\/p>\n
