<strong>Santiago Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> would have the early goal for the hosts, while <strong>Antony<\/strong> and <strong>Evander<\/strong> had the late goals for the Timbers.<\/p>\n<p>After controlling the early play, New York City FC would break through in the 10th minute when a rebound fell to <strong>Santiago Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, who one-timed a low shot off the left post, past Timbers goalkeeper <strong>Maxime Cr\u00e9peau<\/strong>, and the home side had an early 1-0 lead.&nbsp; <strong>Monsef Bakrar<\/strong> nearly doubled the lead a few minutes later when he fought in past the Timbers defense, but Cr\u00e9peau would charge off his line to cut down the angle, and the shot would trickle wide right.<\/p>\n<p>The Timbers started to control play more as the half progressed, but neither team seriously threatened to score, and the score would be a 1-0 lead for NYCFC at the break.<\/p>\n<p>Play was more even in the second half, and the hosts had a goal disallowed in the 66th minute because of an offside call.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But in the 85th minute the Timbers would finally break through, on their first good scoring chance of the day.&nbsp; <strong>Juan David Mosquera<\/strong> made a nice run to the endline and made a low cross that <strong>Antony<\/strong> would blast perfectly into the upper right corner past goalkeeper <strong>Matt Freese<\/strong>, and the score was level at 1-1.<\/p>\n<p>The match looked like it was headed for a draw, but then just after the announced six minutes of stoppage time had ended, Antony fed the ball to <strong>Evander<\/strong>, who was well outside the box, and Evander made what looked like a last futile scoring attempt but it was a beautiful dipping shot that slipped into the top right corner, and the Timbers led 2-1&nbsp;
