The Portland Timbers advanced to the Final Eight of the MLS Is Back Tournament with a 4-2 PK win over FC Cincinnati after a 1-1 draw in regulation. Jaroslaw Niezgoda had the lone regulation goal for the Timbers while Jürgen Locadia had the lone regulation goal for Cincinnati on a penalty kick.
With the win, the Timbers advance to the MLS Is Back Quarterfinals and will face NYCFC on Saturday, August 1 at 7:30pm Pacific.
