Timbers win fourth straight, double up on Galaxy by 6-3 score

The Portland Timbers have now been victorious in their past four matches, and undefeated over the last five, after a 6-3 road victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Felipe Mora and Jeremy Ebobisse scored early to put the Timbers up 2-0 before a Julian Araujo blast brought the Galaxy back within in a goal, which is where it stood at the half.

Early in the second half, Diego Valeri had a brilliant chip of the LA goalkeeper to give the Timbers the two goal advantage again, but once again, the Galaxy pulled back within a goal when Ethan Zubak’s header made it 3-2.

Five minutes later, the Timbers pushed the lead out to two goals again when Felipe Mora scored his second goal of the night to put the Timbers up 4-2.  Just a few minutes later, Larrys Mabiala added a fifth for the Timbers when he headed in the save on Dario Zuparic’s shot.

Less than 10 minutes later, the Galaxy once again pulled a goal back when Cristian Pavón beat Steve Clark to the short side to make the score 5-3 Timbers.

But 10 minutes later, the Timbers got their sixth when Jeremy Ebobisse also got his second of the night and the Timbers left Southern California with a 6-3 win.

Portland’s Steve Clark and LA’s David Bingham each had a single save on the night.
