Timbers fall 2-0 at Colorado

After an amazing eight game run where the Portland Timbers only dropped two points total, the Timbers have now lost three in a row after a lackluster performance in a 2-0 loss in Colorado against the Rapids.

Dominique Badji opened the scoring for the Rapids just before halftime with a headed goal from close range off a cross from Braian GalvánDiego Rubio doubled the lead for the Rapids in the 63rd minute when Larrys Mabiala‘s attempted clearance of a cross rebounded off the head of Rubio and into the Timbers net for the 2-0 lead, which was the final score.

The Timbers currently still sit in fourth place in the Western Conference, but their poor recent play and the surge of several teams just behind them in the standings could see the Timbers even miss the playoffs altogether if they don’t have some good results in their last three games.
