The Portland Timbers opened their play at the 2024 Coachella Valley Invitational preseason tournament on Saturday afternoon with a 1-1 draw against New York City FC.

After conceding a first half PK to NYC, the Timbers tied it up in the second half on a Felipe Mora goal assisted by Santiago Moreno.

The Timbers continue the tournament on Wednesday when they face the San Jose Earthquakes.
