The Timbers were fresh off their MLS Is Back Championship, playing the opener of the next stage of the regular season at home against Seattle, but despite controlling play for much of the match and having an apparent early goal waved off for a VAR reviewed offsite (that appeared to be a correct call), the Timbers fell apart late and allowed three late goals for the 3-0 loss.
