Timbers let late lead slip, draw Sporting Kansas City 1-1

The Timbers started their longest road trip of the season tonight, the first of five straight on the road in Kansas City tonight against the division leaders. After their very disappointing performance against Seattle last week, it was a tall order. But the Timbers looked much sharper tonight and took a 1-0 lead on a header by Felipe Mora off a cross from Marvin Loría in the 17th minute.

The Timbers looked like they were going to get a rare road win, but for the second straight match, the Timbers allowed a second half stoppage time goal, this time by SKC’s Dániel Sallói who beat goalkeeper Steve Clark near side, and the final was 1-1.
